Ballagiri Gowdru Masalas are a unique blend of spices created by two grandmothers: Menesamma from Ballagiri and Kamalamma from Bangalore. Ballagiri is located near the border of two states, Karnataka, Andhra, and Tamil Nadu, which gives the masalas a unique flavor. Menesamma brought the masalas to Bangalore when she got married, where Kamalamma, an excellent cook and Gowdathi, perfected the blend for a perfect balance of spice, heat, and flavor.

The idea of bringing the masalas to market came after the founder traveled and tasted various cuisines and masalas, always returning to the flavors of home. After cooking for friends and having success, the founder and their mother decided to bring the masalas to market, targeting non-metro cities and second-tier cities in the coastal belt where there is more appreciation for new flavors. The goal is to provide people with a taste of authentic Gowda food.
